Job Title : Construction Materials Department Manager

Summary :
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to manage the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) group at our Milwaukee office.
As the Construction Materials Department Manager , you will oversee CMT operations, including field and laboratory technicians, project deliverables, quality control, and contribute to the department's growth through strategic marketing and business development.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage the full lifecycle of field services engineering projects and laboratory operations.
- Lead and mentor a team of CMT engineers, project managers, and technicians.
- Oversee materials testing and laboratory operations with a focus on department growth, emphasizing marketing and business development.
- Conduct technical reviews of proposals, reports, and calculations.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, supporting business development through community involvement and client engagement.
- Ensure projects comply with CMT best practices, safety standards, and quality control procedures.
- Monitor and manage departmental performance, including budget, revenue, forecasts, and P&L.
- Set team goals and implement staff training initiatives to foster professional growth.
- Promote company values, build a positive workplace culture, and enhance employee engagement.
Requirements :
- 6 8+ years of engineering experience, including laboratory testing, construction observation, field quality assurance, site grading, and CMT operations supervision.
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Advanced technical knowledge of testing procedures and specifications.
- Proven experience managing budgets, forecasts, and financial operations.
Education & Certifications :
- Required : Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Preferred : Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
