Job Description

Full-Time, 7p-7a

Under the direction of the Nursing Leadership team, the Unit Secretary (US) performs unit functions appropriate to the position, and in compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.

Functions include but are not limited to managing supplies, answering telephones and call lights, maintaining call board and assisting customers.

Requirements

  • Education : High School Education or
  • Experience : None
  • Licenses, Certifications and / or Registrations : BCLS required. Completion of a Medical Terminology Course preferred.
  • Equipment / Tools / Work Aids : Computer, with related software, fax, copier, label maker, telephone.
  • Specialized Skills : Requires computer skills, ability to type, good communication, time management and customer focused skills.

Strong customer skills required. Ability to read, write and follow oral and written commands

Physical Requirements : Ability to lift and handle unit supplies involving a minimum of 30 pounds. May assist in ambulating or transporting patients.

Visual and hearing acuity necessary. Able to meet the attendance requirements of the job.
