The Opportunity :
The Associate Director of Affinity Alumni Engagement provides oversight of special interest alumni communities with a shared UCF experience or common interests and directs volunteers in the development and execution of events and programs that support alumni engagement and annual giving.
Responsibilities :
Oversee the direction, activities and volunteer leadership of the affinity-based engagement program which focuses on special interest groups with shared UCF experiences or common interests.
Responsibilities include identifying, recruiting and training volunteer leadership plus managing (ideation to implementation), reporting and evaluating effectiveness of activities.
Employee will attend events and meetings, which may include nights and weekends.
Work with the leadership of UCF Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving to develop and execute on goals that increase alumni engagement and philanthropy.
Grow affinity-based alumni engagement through scalable programmatic offerings that drive engagement and lead to philanthropy.
Collaborate with UCF campus partners and leverage strategic university events and initiatives that support affinity-based alumni engagement including, but not limited to, heritage month celebrations and campaigns, graduation ceremonies, mentorship programs and trainings / workshops.
Anticipate, understand and respond to the needs of volunteer leadership; assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, make recommendations and / or resolve the problem.
Write and manage content for affinity-based alumni communications including electronic communications, web content, social media and direct mail for distribution to alumni.
Updates and maintains the affinity-based alumni engagement pages of the UCF Alumni website and social media channels.
Manage budgets for multiple affinity-based alumni communities and monitor daily financial activity to maintain fiscal stability.
Assist in the development of the overarching annual budget for the affinity-based alumni engagement program.
Leverage UCF Advancement and Partnerships' constituent database to record, track and measure all affinity-based alumni events and programs to positively impact alumni engagement metrics.
Measure effectiveness of programs, particularly with respect to attracting unengaged or minimally engaged alumni at various stages of life and deepening engagement with those already considered engaged.
Safeguard the confidentiality of constituent and departmental information and comply with UCF Advancement and Partnerships' data privacy and integrity standards.
Maintain standards for data privacy and integrity with respect to affinity-based alumni queries, community demographic analysis reports and contact information updates.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. .
Preferred Qualifications :
Ability to communicate effectively with professionals at all levels of internal and external organizations with demonstrated service orientation and diplomacy.
Prior event and / or volunteer management experience in higher education and / or the non-profit sector.
Ability to build and foster relationships and have an enthusiastic and energetic attitude.
Experience working with various technologies including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, CRM systems and ERP systems.

Special Instructions to the Applicants :
The anticipated salary for a well-qualified candidate is $62,000 - $68,000.

The anticipated pay scale indicated for this position generally applies to candidates who meet the minimum requirements and several of the preferred qualifications.
