Job Description

Chamberlain College of Nursing in Jacksonville has immediate need for a part-time professor of Anatomy & Physiology in our Bachelor of Science in Nursingprogram in Jacksonville, Florida.

Days : Monday-Thursday (2 days) Official 2 days are chosen based on candidate's schedule.

Time : 6 : 00pm-9 : 00pm (lecture) & 6-8 : 00pm (lab)

The course of instruction is :

Anatomy & Physiology I-IV with Lab (BIOS-251 thru BIOS-256)

This is a four-course sequence in which human anatomy and physiology are studied using a body systems approach. Coursework emphasizes interrelationships between form and function at the gross and microscopic levels of organization.

Topics include :

  • Basic anatomical and directional terminology, muscle tissues, fundamental concepts and principles of cell biology, history and the integumentary and skeletal systems
  • Fundamental concepts and principles of the muscular and nervoussystems, special senses and the endocrine system
  • Cardiovascular, immune and respiratory systems
  • Digestive, urinary and reproductive systems

Courses typically meet, in person, twice per week (lecture followed by lab) for eight-week sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials.
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment / examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

  • Earned a master's or doctorate degree with a minimum of 18 or more graduate credit hours earned directly in Anatomy & Physiology
  • Areable to provide official transcripts for all graduate degrees earned from a regionallyaccredited institution. For degrees earned outside of the US, a course-by-course US equivalency evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator
  • Have taught or been told you're a "natural" at teaching and helping others learn
  • Possessgenuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning
  • Haveexceptional subject matter expertise as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Are eager to serve students andcolleagues with passion, respect and care
  • Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose with the desire to enrich colleagues, students and the broader community
  • Have a strong work ethic, learn from mistakes, build positive spirit and always look for a better way

Additional Information

Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Campus :

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment, depending on the candidate's education and experience.

Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training;
