Posting Summary Position Title Vehicle Mechanic Maintenance Supervisor Position Number 3795 Branch Strategic Operations and Initiatives Division Facilities Operations Department Facilities Operations Job Description Responsible for the operations and maintenance of all college owned vehicles and equipment.
Responsible for the supervision of one full-time mechanic and one part-time mechanic helper.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS :
1. Performs and supervises in-house service and repair on vehicles and equipment.
2. Coordinates service / repair with outside vendors of vehicles and equipment.
3. Develops, maintains and provides training on college equipment.
4. Assists the supervisor in preparing specifications for new vehicles and equipment purchases.
5. Maintains accurate records on all service work whether in-house or done externally.
6. License all college owned vehicles and coordinates current insurance with licensing.
7. Supervises one full-time mechanic and one part-time mechanic helper.
8. This position is designated essential and may be called in for emergency situations, to include, but not limited to snow removal, structural failures, and natural disasters.
9. Consistently and dependably attends work, activities, and functions as scheduled or assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
1. Knowledge of vehicles and equipment’s electrical, mechanical and fluid systems.
2. Skilled with hand, power and air tools.
3. Ability to read and comprehend schematic diagrams.
4. Possess the mechanical aptitude to diagnosis and repair small and large engines.
5. Ability to effective communication verbal and written form.
6. Ability to lift in excess of 100lbs.
7. Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
8. Ability to lift bend, stoop, kneel, climb, push, pull, reach and walk to complete assigned tasks.
9. Ability to be on-call.
10. Ability to navigate with an electronic work order system.
11. Ability to use a smartphone and (or) tablet
12. Ability to work with Microsoft Office 365.
13. Ability to drive College vehicles.
14. Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and ethnicities.

Consideration will be given to reasonable accommodations . Required Qualification Associate’s degree in Auto Mechanics with five (5) years of full-time work-related experience with commercial automobiles and equipment repairs and 2 years supervisory experience in a similar work environment.
ASE Certified Technician or ability to pass multiple ASE certifications within 6 months of hire.
Certification in refrigerant recycling and additional training / education.
