The Principal Accountant’s primary duty is to support the accounting / finance function by performing general day-to-day accounting and financial duties.
Responsibilities include maintaining integrity and accuracy of the general ledger accounting records, reconciliations, and documentation, performing monthly financial closing procedures to ensure accurate and timely preparation, presentation and analysis of financial statements.
This is a fulltime role working days; Monday Friday.

The Role
- Closely work with project owners to track, compile, and record CIP costs in GL accounts; close out CIP accounts at the completion of the projects to Fixed Assets.
- Responsible for full cycle of fixed asset transactions including but not limited to capitalizations, retirements, depreciation and prepare PPE roll-forward.
- Ensure compliance to the standard for lease accounting and related journal entries and reconciliations
- Responsible for the general accounting function including but not limited to accruals, prepaid and amortizations. Complete assigned month-end journal entries and account reconciliations
- Investigate and resolve problems associated with the processing of site invoices, GRNV and purchase orders with Financial Shared Services and Supply Chain
- Ensures accuracy of accounting records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), company policies and procedures.
- Assist in monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages
- Assist in month-end reporting and ad hoc analysis.
- Provides support for internal and external audits and other accounting projects assigned by corporate or site finance management
The Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree required, (degree in Accounting, preferred)
- 8+ years relatable experience, preferably a SOX compliant company
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting concepts
- Prior experience with ERP system, preferred
- Advanced ability to gather, monitor, analyze and document data
- Advanced PC skills, including advanced spreadsheet functions (e.g. Pivot Tables, Lookups, Formulas)
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
