About the Role

Magna New Mobility is a startup inside Magna International, a mobility technology company and one of the largest automotive suppliers in the world.

The New Mobility team is building a suite of products and services all about moving things and people at scale, closely integrated with software to achieve our unique and ambitious hardware visions.

So far we have developed and partnered on products in the micromobility market (Yulu, Yuma, Cartken, among others) and have other projects and target markets that are still in stealth mode.

We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist to analyze various types of data and parse through large amounts of raw information to find patterns that will help identify ways to optimize and improve the group’s performance.

We will rely on this person to build data products to extract valuable business insights. #LI-hybrid

Your Responsibilities

  • Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
  • Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
  • Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
  • Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
  • Combine models through ensemble modeling
  • Present information using data visualization techniques
  • Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams

Who we are looking for

  • You have 10+ proven experience in Data Science as well as an undergraduate degree or Equivalent Experience in Engineering or a relevant field
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform is preferred
  • Knowledge of R, SQL, and Python; familiarity with Scala, Java or C++ is an asset
  • Experience using different business intelligence tools, e.g. meta base, Power Bi;
  • Analytical mind and business acumen
  • Strong math skills (e.g., statistics, algebra)

Your preferred qualifications

Prior experience data mining, Energy and Mobility startups is an asset

Graduate degree in Data Science (Math statistics) or another quantitative field
