This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving operational efficiency, effectiveness, data-driven decision-making, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance within WEX's Receivables & Financial Risk Operations.
This role oversees teams of data analysts, compliance analysts, automation specialists, and business process analysts, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and rigorous adherence to internal controls.
This role's scope encompasses both strategic leadership and day-to-day operational oversight, ensuring the highest standards of performance and compliance while driving long-term value creation.

They will have a proven track record of implementing and overseeing robust control frameworks, ensuring quality assurance, and leveraging data insights and automation to optimize financial operations.
Oversee a team of business process analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of excellence.
Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, quality, and compliance within the department.
Collaborate with risk operations leaders to align operational strategies with broader business objectives.
Ensure adherence to all applicable operational first line controls (SOX, SOC, and management controls).
Maintain a comprehensive quality assurance program for risk operations, including receivables, debt collection and recovery, and cash application.
Lead the team in analyzing operational data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
Utilize data insights to answer critical business questions and support decision-making.
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators and provide actionable insights to management.
Identify opportunities for automation within the operational unit and develop business cases for implementation.
Lead the team in utilizing automation tools and technologies to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement automation solutions and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Maintain a deep focus on the day-to-day success of the operational units.
Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy (people, process, technology) for management of the functional areas, aligned with corporate objectives, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
Provide visionary and strategic leadership as a shared service to the broader Receivables + Financial Risk Operations organization, aligning with the strategic objectives of the organization and driving long-term value creation.
Minimum Required Qualifications for Consideration :
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Finance, Accounting, Business Administration).
7+ years of progressive experience in operational leadership, risk management, or a related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Deep understanding of internal controls, risk management, and process improvement
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to drive results and lead change
Results driven, action orientated and self-motivated
Ability to be influential at all levels of the organization, leading stakeholders from various business units to agreement.
Must successfully pass a background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications :
Master's degree in a relevant field
Experience in the financial services or payments industry
Proficiency in data analysis tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, Alteryx)
Experience with automation tools and technologies (e.g., UiPath, AI tools)
The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan.
