Job Summary Responsible for the coordination and support of the Quality Improvement / Pt Safety / Medication Safety / Accreditation program of Children’s of Alabama.
Conducts and monitors results from root cause analyses and failure mode and effects analyses and gap analysis. Researches appropriate literature for benchmarking and best practices.
Provides facilitation for the Quality and Safety teams and other committees. Develops performance improvement reports for administration and conducts medical chart reviews for QI data collection as necessary.
Consults and educates teams / staff on medication safety, human factors, culture of safety, and error prevention education tools and methodologies.
Support and facilitation of SPS initiative, which includes coordination, implementation, and management of the Culture of Safety program and other patient safety related activities as a part of SPS collaborative.
- Education Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare related field required. Mater's Degree in a healthcare related field preferred.
- Experience Specific knowledge of current concepts (root cause analysis, failure mode effect analysis) and experience related to healthcare quality, safety and data analysis is required.
2+ years experience at the educator / coordinator setting in a business or health care related setting.
