Description

The Junior Information Security Analyst will assist the Global Security team with day-to-day Information Security Operations (SecOps), including but not limited to, monitoring networks for security weaknesses and abuse, reviewing and remediating vulnerability findings, installing and managing security patches and software, ongoing security projects in the organization, and any other SecOps tasks as assigned.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS include the following, others may be assigned.

• Discover, plan, remediate, and close vulnerabilities in the various OSs in the network (Windows, Unix)
• Monitor international network for security weaknesses, abuse, fraud, and exploitation
• Discover and respond to immediate threats as they occur
• Review, Manage, and Remediate Vulnerabilities
• Participate in the design, analysis, and implementation of efficient security systems and software
• Assist with the evaluation and testing of new security technologies
• Gather feedback from clients to adjust and improve deployed security mechanisms

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS

This is a non-supervisory position.

Qualifications

Requirements

Minimum

• Education : Bachelors degree in a related field of study
• Experience : Two plus (2+) years IT field experience
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : CompTIA Security+

Preferred

Experience : Five plus (5+) years IT field experience, and One year in Information Security.

Language Skills

Reading / comprehension, speaking and writing at required education equivalency level. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business correspondence, technical / product information, policies / procedures or government regulations. Ability to

complete written forms and write routine to complex procedures, reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in a group or individual setting.

French Language speaking is a plus.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.

Computer Skills

Minimum :

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and other Office applications.
• Moderate understanding of network and firewall topologies and operation,
• Endpoint security principles and best practices,
• IDS and IPS concepts and methodologies, and incident management and response.

Preferred Skills :

• Windows and Unix OS Proficiency
• Ability to discover and respond to active security incidents
• Ability to identify and remediate network vulnerabilities
• Experience applying security patches in an industrial network
• Experience with IDS and IPS operation
• Strong working knowledge in the following technologies : Firewalls Application Security Physical Security WAF Identity Management Backups Vulnerability Testing
• Thorough knowledge of penetration testing and exploitation a Plus

Complexity

The work includes varied duties requiring many different and unrelated processes and methods be applied to a broad range of activities and / or substantial depth of analysis within a particular area.

methodology, interpretation or evaluation resulting from such elements as continuing changes, technical developments, unknown phenomena or conflicting requirements.

The work requires originating new techniques, establishing criteria, or developing new

information.

Physical Demands

The work requires both sedentary and limited physical exertion to include sitting; walking; standing; bending; traversing of stairs, carrying of light items such as papers, books or small parts;

driving an automobile, forklift, etc. Work routinely requires speaking

and hearing (expression or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words and perceiving sounds by ear).

Work Environment

The work environment requires normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, personal or commercial transportation methods.

Requires use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls,

observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. Generally, the work area is well lighted, heated and ventilated.

May also include work that requires special safety precautions such as working around moving parts, carts or machines or with irritant

chemicals. Employee may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, gowns, coats, safety shoes, boots, goggles, gloves, safety glasses or shields.
