Job Title : IT Network and System Engineer

Reports to : US IT Squeeze Infrastructure Manager

Location : Nampa

Job Summary :

The Network and System Engineer’s role is to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, systems, video, and wireless network services.

The individual in this role will participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of all network hardware, servers, software, communication links, and all solicitation from the corporate GTS team and Business projects.

This individual will also analyze and resolve any complex IT problems escalated to him / her in a timely and accurate fashion.

The Network and System Engineer will have to understand the Global IT organization in order to be efficient in following the deployment or solving of project issues and requests.

He will inspire and grow his teammates through his knowledge and example.

Job Responsibilities and Tasks :

  • Level 2 Support & Manage Systems / Networks Support and maintain technologies Infrastructure of BEL Squeez business (3 sites) according to group standards (Incidents & Requests)
  • Work on advanced administration support (switch, firewall, VMware, phone), infrastructure changes, and problem resolution.
  • Provide support to the IT Technician team (1 per site)
  • Execute complex tasks and requests in respect of company SLA and Corporate IT team and project.
  • Participate in managing security solutions in cooperation with Security team.
  • Ensure the IT support for Production that runs 24 / 7 on the Nampa factory site.
  • Monitor systems and network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
  • Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
  • Work on major infrastructure changes in coordination with the Corporate IT.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously to deliver results on time with a high level of quality.
  • Take part in the analysis and evaluation of vendor-supplied software and hardware products.
  • Deploy / upgrade company LANs including routers / switches, servers, and other hardware.
  • Keep up-to-date diagrams of network topology and connections at all sites.
  • Help deliver documentation, testing plans, and analysis.
  • Help maintain software and hardware CMDB.
  • Interact with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors.
  • Interact with IS Project Managers and US plant engineer teams (OT).
  • Interact with group IT Cyber-Security Team, Corporate GTS Team, and local US IT technicians.

Position Requirements :

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related field) minimum requirement, Master’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

5 to 7 years relevant experience in a support, design & implementation role on supporting a virtual and physical network and system infrastructure for a multi-site enterprise.

SKILLS

  • Experience in managing and troubleshooting complex network infrastructure in LAN / WAN environment, with expertise in Routing, Switching, and Firewalling.
  • Essential network administrative capabilities within a manufacturing organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of Firewalls (preference for Forcepoint) and system and server configuration (Windows and Linux).
  • Good knowledge of global carriers and service providers.
  • High degree of competency in technical areas, including Networking Protocols / Services, NAT / PAT, SNMP, STP, Ethernet, DNS, Application Firewalls, Cisco hardware, Cisco IOS, Meraki, Crowdstrike, VMWare / Simplivity, backup solutions (Commvault), MS servers, DHCP, DNS, GPO, O365 environment (Azure AD, Power Automate, SharePoint), and administration.
  • Capacity to learn and adapt to BEL Standards and collaborate with the corporate team in France.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to manage time and complex tasks.
  • Robust documentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Actively pursuing learning opportunities.
  • Ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal confidently with highly complex technical problems.
  • Experience with direct customer interaction as a technology partner.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to IT security best practices and protocols.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.

PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work in normal office conditions and in the manufacturing plant and warehouses.
  • Must be able to work 8 hours per day and be on his / her feet for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to travel via airplane within the U.S. and internationally.
