Job Summary

The Automation Engineer will be responsible for assisting the Automation Team on controls specific project tasks mainly in the Dairy and / or Wastewater industry.

Maintain documentation and coordinate efforts with the project team. Determine project scope and specification to achieve customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting systems and assist customers
  • Assist contractors with panel fabrication and skid wiring
  • Develop relationships with vendors / contractors to meet project specifics
  • Engineer / Design electrical control panels per UL508A utilizing AutoCAD Electrical
  • Evolve the working practices to improve efficiency and productivity for projects
  • To contribute to the development of relevant working procedures, templates and standards
  • Assist with on-site system commissioning / installation
  • Procure components / instruments to maintain project deadlines
  • Manage process specification to ensure compliance with all project specific guidelines
  • Assist with project documentation packages
  • Continually monitor project schedule to meet project deadlines
  • Production of process and programming documentation for projects

Supervision Received

Automation Engineer will work under the Automation Manager

Working Relationships

Automation Engineer will maintain good personal relationships with fellow workers, vendors, manufacturers and the general public.

They will be expected to participate in meetings, seminars and trainings as required.

Requirements

Education and Training : To become an Automation Engineer, we require a minimum of a High School Diploma with 5+ years of electrical related job experience or at minimum an Associate’s Degree in an electrical related field.

Communication Skill : Automation Engineer must have excellent communication skills which they utilize when consulting with other team members

Critical Thinking : They require good logic and reasoning skills to be able to identify weaknesses and strengths of alternative solutions or approaches to problems

Organizational skill : Their work is often to manage and produce project related documentation, thereby making them persons who need excellent organizational skills to perform their duties of the responsibilities.
