What You'll Do :
Promote Safety. Actively prioritize safety for yourself and others at all times. Follow MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) and Vulcan safety standards to ensure safe work practices and a safe environment.
Material Handling. Assist with the extraction, loading, and transportation of raw materials such as rock, sand, gravel, and other quarry materials.
Ensure materials are moved and stored safely and efficiently.
Site Maintenance. Perform daily site cleanup, including removing debris, sweeping, and maintaining safe walkways. Ensure proper organization of equipment, tools, and materials at the quarry.
Assist Equipment Operators. Support operators of heavy machinery (such as loaders, dump trucks, and crushers) by helping position materials, loading trucks, and preparing equipment for use.
Assist in minor maintenance tasks when needed.
Monitor Operations. Observe quarry operations and equipment, reporting any issues or maintenance needs to supervisors. Help monitor the environment for any safety hazards or inefficiencies.
Additional Responsibilities. Take on other tasks as assigned, such as assisting with the maintenance of quarry equipment, preparing sites for mining activities, or helping with other hands-on labor tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Skills You'll Need :
Experience. While prior experience in a quarry or construction environment is beneficial, it is not required. We are willing to train candidates who are eager to learn and committed to safety.
Knowledge of Best Practices. A basic understanding of quarry operations, safety protocols, and general construction practices is a plus but not mandatory.
Physical Stamina. This position requires physical labor, including lifting heavy materials, standing, bending, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Must be able to tolerate exposure to loud noises, dust, and the rugged quarry environment.
Flexibility. Must be available to work overtime and extended hours as needed, including weekends. Ability to work in all weather conditions and adapt to the dynamic environment of a rock quarry.
