Communitas is searching for aDirector of Finance to join the team and lead financial oversight of the agency.
The ideal hiring timeframe for this position will be December 2024. This position is located in Massachusetts, and the candidate would be expected to be on-site full-time.

POSITION OVERVIEW :
Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Finance will be responsible for supervising the agency’s financial systems and will oversee the finance department staff, consisting of two senior accountants and an accounts payable role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Manage and address the financial needs of the organization utilizing debt financial instruments when needed. This includes, but not limited to maintaining a candid and professional relationship with the organization’s financial institution(s).
- Responsible for overall cash management, including daily cash analysis tools, and preparing cash flow projections and statement.
- Ensure the preparation, distribution and presentation as necessary of monthly financial statements to the CEO, Board of Directors, Agency Financial Partners, and Senior Management.
- Manage the preparation and issuance of the organization’s annual audited financial reports, UFR, HUD and other periodic reporting.
- Oversee and ensure the preparation of the corporation’s tax returns, including timely compliance with all tax filing requirements.
- Work to improve the budgeting process on an ongoing basis throughout the year and assess the accuracy of cash flow projection and reporting mechanisms.
- Maintain professional relationships with vendors, clients, and staff with a "partnering" philosophy.
- Oversee and meet requirements of all required financial audits, including investigating their findings and recommendations.
Implementing appropriate measure to respond to any finding and recommendations.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, and / or MBA, and / or CMA preferred
- 5 years of financial leadership and supervisory experience required, preferably in a human service setting
- A valid driver's license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation is required.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check including references, CORI and fingerprinting.
