The College of Engineering has an exciting opening for a temporary Associate Director for Advancement. This is a full-time, temporary position through June 2025.

The Associate Director for Advancement is responsible for executing strategies to raise major gifts in support of the College of Engineering and its academic units.

The Associate Director for Advancement works closely with academic leaders to implement strategies toward the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of key individual major donors and prospects.

This will be done in close partnership with the Director of Advancement.

Reporting to the Director of Advancement, this position will join a team that values respectful collaboration, relationship-building, shared equity leadership, autonomy with accountability, professional growth, trust and impact.

The Associate Director for Advancement will manage relationships with key internal stakeholders such as faculty and departmental chairs.

With these partners, the Associate Director for Advancement will represent strategic funding priorities to external audiences.

What You Will Do :

  • Serve as the internal relationship manager for specific academic partners.
  • Collaborate with academic partners to execute fundraising activities necessary to successfully secure gifts of $50,000 and above for the College of Engineering.
  • Manage the cultivation, solicitation and stewarding of prospects and alumni by helping academic partners develop relationships with those who can make major gifts.
  • Facilitate connections between donors and donor prospects with academic leaders.
  • Prepare and complete timely contact reports, written proposals and other development materials for use during donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities.
  • Prepare, review and edit all materials needed to secure and steward gifts.
  • Attend meetings and participate in University Advancement and College of Engineering events and activities, as appropriate.

What You Bring :

  • Knowledge of alumni relations / development / advancement principles and preference for an understanding of the integrated advancement model.
  • The capacity to proactively approach work and operate with a high level of independence.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and initiative to handle a variety of tasks and a wide range of people, including donors, volunteers and faculty.
  • Demonstrated creativity, top organizational ability and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for generating correspondence, special reports, spreadsheets and design / photography software and applications.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree and four years of experience in development, advancement or related field, with an emphasis on cultivating and soliciting major gifts.
  • Equivalent education / experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license / certification / registration.

  • This position requires a flexible schedule as the workload and times may vary, including evenings or weekends.
  • This position is temporary, lasting through June 2025.
