Mobile Diesel Mechanic (DM)

GATR Truck Center is seeking a skilled and experienced Mobile Diesel Mechanic to join our Waukee, IA team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with the ability to diagnose and fix a wide range of issues on various makes and models of diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicles.

This is a mobile position, requiring travel to different client locations to provide on-site services. As this is a safety-sensitive position, adherence to all safety protocols and procedures is mandatory to ensure a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections.
• Respond to service calls and provide on-site mechanical assistance.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed.
• Communicate effectively with clients to explain repairs and maintenance needs.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or relevant certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• CDL certification preferred
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
