SUMMARY : We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Professional to join our dynamic team. In this multifaceted role, you will provide high-quality mental health counseling to clients while supervising and mentoring student interns and emerging clinicians.
You will play a crucial part in overseeing program development, ensuring that our services are effective, innovative, and aligned with best practices.
Your leadership will help guide staff productivity, providing support and accountability to ensure optimal client outcomes.
In addition to your supervisory duties, you will maintain a small caseload, allowing you to stay connected to the clinical work while fostering the growth of future mental health professionals.
Additionally, you will oversee a grant-funded initiative aimed at connecting at-risk and justice-involved youth with vital mental health resources.
In this pivotal role, you will manage all aspects of the program, ensuring effective outreach, engagement, and support for the youth we serve.
You will collaborate with community organizations, mental health professionals, and educational institutions to develop and implement tailored interventions that promote mental well-being and resilience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES : Responsibilities :
Responsibilities :
1. Supervise and assist staff and interns in clinical matters and responsibilities.
2. Oversee Juvenile Justice program (2 case managers).
3. Ensure that electronic case files are maintained in accordance with agency and DMH / HFS standards. Maintain compliance for department.
4. Ensure monthly program censuses are accurate in the database. and report service hour projections and ensure documentation is completed promptly (weekly at a minimum) for the department.
5. Schedule and coordinate staff.
6. Network with current and prospective referral sources and other community agencies.
7. Conduct union / non-union staff annual performance appraisals. Be knowledgeable of and adhere to the CBA.
8. Conduct intake interviews with new or readmitted consumers to gather necessary administrative information.
9. Ensure safety for the Juvenile Justice location (small office), run safety drills and safety groups as needed.
10. Provide individual and group service hours in line with a caseload of 5 individuals (approx. 5-7 hours a week)
11. Ensure that documentation supports billed charges and necessity for each service.
12. Conduct file review each quarter in conjunction with Quality Dept.
13. Oversee documentation including IM + CANs, progress and session notes, and discharge summaries.
14. Ensure that clients’ medical and psychiatric documentation is completed.
15. Attend regularly scheduled supervisory and agency meetings.
16. Fill in for counselors who are on leave or if there is a vacant position.
17. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor; uphold all agency policies and Code of Conduct.
REPORTS TO : Director of Community Mental Health
SUPERVISES : 4 6 CMH Counselors
REQUIREMENTS :
- LPHA (LCSW or LCPC)
- Supervisory experience of 1 year preferred
- Knowledge of rules 132, 140 and accreditation standards
- Computer proficiency / use of electronic healthcare records.
- 1 year Counseling experience
- IM + CANS certified
- Flexible open thinking to get outcomes met
