Job Summary :
The Vail Mountain Maintenance Coordinator will coordinate the mountain service team in a manner that supports and responds to calls received by any department on Vail Mountain! Answers phones, responds to work orders, and maintains the work orders system, does daily checks of all buildings’ direct digital control systems.
Coordinates all purchasing, under the supervision of the Mountain Services Manager. Manages technical payroll and performs other administrative duties as needed.
Job Responsibilities :
- Performs daily checks of each facility’s (on Vail Mountain) energy management systems
- Generates work orders to investigate out of the ordinary situations discovered
- Answers phones and dispatches technicians in accordance with Mountain Services priority list
- Supervises and anticipates all materials requests made by the technicians
- Runs the payroll process for all Mountain Services personnel through PeopleSoft
- Provides daily oversight of the mountain janitorial staff
- Assists with scheduling of jobs, outside contractors, vacations, capital projects, and any other activity born of Mountain Services
- Works with Security Team on Fire Life Safety system inspection, repairs and deficiencies.
- Assists the manager with maintaining strict control over the fiscal year operating and capital project budgets including journal entry for the Sign Shop and PC Cards
- Bills out Larkspur monthly for work orders completed and parts used
- Assists other operations based departments with technical aspects such as (but not limited to) snow reporting, grooming reports, web page projects, etc.
- Prioritizes and manages the janitorial subcontractor in all contracted facilities

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid state-issued driver’s license
- Must possess the ability to run a computer base DDC (direct digital controls) system and handle a computer based work order system, as well as Word, Excel and general internet skills
- Proficiency to read, write, and speak English
- Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Strong intermediate skier or snowboarder
Preferred :
- Knowledge of internal workings of Vail Mountain and resort experience
- Knowledge of facility electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilating and air conditioning
- 1 year of supervisory experience
The expected pay range is $24.00 - $28.48. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
