Responsibilities :

The facilities engineer will be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of our manufacturing plant. You will be responsible for assessing the facility’s resource requirements, designing and optimizing the facility’s layout and critical operational systems, and overseeing the maintenance of infrastructure and equipment.

Facilities Engineer will be responsible for coordinating facility projects, ranging from general facilities maintenance and upgrades / retrofits to complete building construction projects which may include production / process systems design / start-up while working closely with Packaging Engineering from concept through implementation for various supporting initiatives.

Projects include but are not limited to : new manufacturing systems and upgrades, bulk manufacturing systems, new facility upgrades.

What You’ll Be Responsible For :

  • Facilities engineers are responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and equipment of buildings and facilities.
  • Determining facility and equipment specifications.
  • Design and oversee the construction of new facilities and equipment, ensuring they are functional, efficient, and safe.
  • Monitor the installations and commissioning of equipment, organize training in collaboration with suppliers.
  • Perform analyses of operational processes, resource allocation, energy use, and safety processes, and recommend and implement improvements.
  • Gathering and analyzing data, blueprints, and reports.
  • Analyzing project costs and preparing budgets.
  • Developing processing plans and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Preparing reports and compliance documentation.
  • Develop and implement utility plans, perform system evaluations, and establish operational efficiency.
  • Managing projects cohesively and efficiently by working with manufacturing operations, safety, environmental, quality, accounting, sourcing, and / or any other internal and external project stakeholders
  • Responding to emergencies, reducing risk, minimizing losses and downtime during unexpected events.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all facilities and equipment. Planning and coordinating infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules and activities.
  • Manage and supervise facility maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors.
  • Maintain HVAC Systems, USP Water, Boilers, Compressed Air, Hot Water and Electricity available in quality and quantity to meet production targets
  • Maintain facilities all the time to acceptable level of FDA, OSHA and environmental agency compliance.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards.

What You’ll Need to Have :

  • Bachelor’s degree Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
  • 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or similar function is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a regulated environment (FDA).
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SAP, and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of the building process and construction principles.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and building codes.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Conversational Spanish required.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Project management and strong organizational skills.
  • Computer skills proficient with office suite / Google equivalent applications : Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.
