JOB DESCRIPTION
Title : Strategic Sourcing Intern Department : Procurement
Status : Non-Exempt Effective Date : November 1, 2024
Reports to : Procurement Director
SUMMARY OF POSITION :
This role is responsible for assisting Bake’n Joy’s procurement team with critical information and analysis that support the company’s strategic sourcing activities across more than 100 packaging and ingredient suppliers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Strategic Sourcing
- Support the Procurement Team’s implementation of sourcing strategies for all packaging and ingredient categories.
- Conduct supplier and market research. Compiled key reports and analysis related to supplier performance and market assessments.
- Ensure that data sources for key commodities (ex. sugar, eggs, flour) are adequately captured on a day-to-day and strategic basis to cover manufacturing needs and capture pricing benefits for BNJ.
- Support Procurement KPI needs relative to Supplier supply assurance, capacity planning and quality.
Supplier Relationship Management
- Support scorecarding and Annual / Semi-annual reviews with BNJ’s Top 20 Suppliers.
- Develop and Issue specific MRP-driven forecasts for key suppliers and materials with annual / regular updates.
Project Management
Provide project tracking and analysis to support key company initiatives, with a key focus on supplier performance.

What Makes You Qualified
- Interest in Purchasing, Sourcing, and / or Planning with experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Progress toward a Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year College or University.
- Strong computer skills, ideally with experience using Windows-based PC programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness of deadlines.
- Ability to identify processes needing improvement, and to recommend improvements.
- Affable with strong interpersonal skills, maintains a professional presence and can work with associates at all levels of the organization.
- Self-motivated and highly organized individual with a positive attitude.
