About the Role

What You Will Do

  • Design Innovation : Collaborate with a team of experts to conceptualize, design, and develop innovative mechanical systems for cutting-edge battery manufacturing facilities.
  • Technical Expertise : Utilize your extensive design experience in developing detailed and accurate system designs. Perform QAQC review of project interim deliverable packages (30%, 60%, 90%, IFC) and ensure adherence to design standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Code Compliance : Ensure adherence to all relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including ASME, NFPA, and ASHRAE.
  • Sustainability Integration : Integrate sustainable design principles and energy-efficient practices into your work.
  • Teamwork and Communication : Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including electrical, process, and controls engineers.

What You Need

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field - Master is a PLUS
  • 8+ years of experience in design of mechanical systems for industrial facilities utility infrastructure
  • Extensive working experience in large-scale, high-volume and high-tech manufacturing facilities
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems design, dry systems (HVAC, CR / DR mechanical systems) and / or wet systems (process distribution piping, air compressors and dryers, vacuum systems, pumps, heat exchangers)
  • Working knowledge of applicable design guides and standards related to utility systems
  • Experience in system modeling using Pipe Flo or other simulation software is a plus
  • Experience with CFD analysis is a plus
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an aptitude for learning quickly

The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic.
