Family Law Paralegal

Compensation :

$55,000 - $65,000 yearly

Responsibilities :

• Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings
• Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits under the guidance of a lawyer
• Conduct interviews with clients to gather information about their legal issues
• Follow-Through : Track deadlines, follow up on outstanding tasks, and ensure cases are moving forward with attention to detail.
• Discovery Mastery : Manage the discovery process, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, document production, and organizing discovery for litigation.

Qualifications :

• At least 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Must have great time-management skills, and organizational skills
• Minimum of 3 years of family law and litigation experience in Illinois .
• Proficiency in discovery , and understanding its importance in family law cases.
• Familiarity with Clio, Microsoft Office Suite, and legal research tools is a plus.
