TITLE : Clinical Supervisor (LMHP)
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR : Clinical Director
CLASS SUMMARY :
This class performs initial assessments, makes diagnosis, and provides clinical supervision to the QMHPs (trainees and paraprofessionals) of LIGHTHOUSE THERAPEUTIC SERVICES, LLC.
This includes clinical supervision of all services to individuals. This position operates as a backup position to the program director supervising on-call or after-hours crisis issues if needed.
DISTINGUISHING ELEMENTS OF THE CLASS :
Impact : The incumbent's work is to make diagnosis and assist the QMHPs (trainees and paraprofessionals) in maintaining safe and therapeutic practices.
Latitude : All clinical work is guided by a comprehensive treatment plan, program policies, guidelines and instructions supervised directly by the clinical supervisor.
Responsibility for the Work of Others : There is no responsibility outside of the clinical realm.
Interpersonal Contacts : Continuous contact with staff in planning and providing individual services and regular contact with program director to provide feedback on home-based clinical issues.
Difficulty : Appropriately relating to a variety of individual personality types requires use of judgment and discretion.
Communications : Incumbent will communicate effectively, in writing and orally, to program director and caseworker to maintain appropriate clinical records and for supervision.
Equipment / Facilities Responsibility : NA.
Working Conditions : Supervision involves office contact with program director and staff for purposes of clinical supervision during regular office hours.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) :
Excellent knowledge of therapeutic interventions for individuals
Good knowledge of non-violent crisis intervention
Demonstrated skill in treating individuals and families
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with individuals and
staff
Skill with teaching clinical assessments and interventions
Skill with evaluating clinical skills of MHS caseworkers
Formal Training and Work Experience : Clinical Supervisor must be licensed by the state of Virginia in one of the following areas : LCSW, LPC, or in residency working towards licensure, registered with the Virginia Board of Social Work or Counseling .
Minimum of two years working with adults, adolescent and family issues. Must meet VDBHDS / DMAS criteria to qualify as a LMHP / LMHP-E.
Licensure :
Valid state driver's license
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training certification (within 30 days of employment)
Standard First aid Training certification (within 30 days of employment)
Principle Duties and Responsibilities of Class (Illustrative Only) :
Performs initial assessments, and make diagnosis
Provides clinical supervision to caseworkers and documents all supervision activities on the
Supervision Content Form which will be included in the clinical files.
Develop forms to document all clinical training and supervision.
In conjunction with MHS caseworkers, monitors and reviews individual's progress according
to existing standards and policies of LIGHTHOUSE THERAPEUTIC SERVICES, LLC.
Assists QMHP (Trainee / Paraprofessional) in planning and implementing Individual Service
Plans.
Reviews clinical files to ensure compliance with all regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
This position requires the incumbent to sign the necessary consent forms to allow Central Registry / CPS and criminal background checks to be conducted.
Refusal to sign the consent forms will be an automatic retraction by the incumbent of both the application for employment and / or acceptance of an offer for employment.
