Position : Fire Alarm Technician

gpac, a 30+ year family-owned, family run search firm, is partnered with a well-established Fire Protection Company. They are looking for a Professional Fire Alarm Technician , who is FCI Certified, to add to their growing team.

As a Fire Alarm Technician , who is FCI Certified, you will be responsible for installing, programming, troubleshooting, configuring, commissioning, and servicing Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control and CCTV Systems as well as other related building system products at customer sites.

The FCI Certified - Fire Alarm Technician is also expected to perform panel repair and reprogramming, device replacement and repair, resolving low voltage circuit troubles and system testing.

This skilled position involves resources, information, material, and support to assure efficient execution of all assigned tasks.

Position involves the programming of fire alarm, security, and access control system panels.

Fire Alarm Technician Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for programming and testing systems for new construction in all Commercial Buildings.
  • Perform programming on integrated security and fire alarm systems.
  • Troubleshooting for all systems and sharing 24 / 7 Emergency calls.
  • Responds to customer service calls in a timely and efficient manner, troubleshoots and repairs as needed.
  • Communicates with central dispatch on current work order status and receives updates on outstanding customer issues.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software / systems programs, schematics, and operational / product manuals.
  • Supervise and inspect the installation of equipment to meet customer and contract specifications.
  • Complete and submit all required task-related, activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.

Fire Alarm Technician Background Requirements :

  • 5+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire / Life Safety Systems, Access Control, CCTV, and Security Systems.
  • Confident with programming fire control panels with multiple NODES, multiple high-rises, and voice evacuation throughout.
  • All other Fire alarm system programming is a plus.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational / product manuals.
  • Experience with hand tools test equipment, multi-meter usage, digital analyzer and commissioning devices.
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Demonstrates a prominent level of customer service.
  • Ability to lead & work well with team members.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
  • Able to obtain and retain any licenses that are required by National, State and Local codes.
  • Working knowledge of electronic and digital test equipment.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a short period of time.

Fire Alarm Technician Required Certifications

  • Gamewell / FCI S-3 and E-3 Certified
  • Nevada Fire Alarm License

Fire Alarm Technician Preferred Certifications

  • NICET level II or ability to obtain in first year.
  • OSHA 10 Certified
