What You'll Do

• Maintain a clean and safe work area, inside the scale house and around the scales
• Attend all safety meetings and actively participate in the safety programs
• Assist in required PPE reminders for drivers as they are in the plant
• Data entry for the receiving process on consumables and scrap
• Monitor and report radiation alarm events.
• Printing / EDI the Bill of Lading, Material Test Report and scale tickets.
• Communication with Yard, Process Manager and Shipping Forklift operator on inbound shipments
• Communication with drivers for drop-off / pickup locations
• Serve as backup for the dispatcher and the central point of contact between out of plant areas plant areas and internal plant operations during off hours
• Diagnose problems with the scales and assist in their repair
• Generate receiving and shipping reports
• Work with dispatchers daily on weights, load numbers, or issues

What You'll Need

• Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with excellent strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Ability to work with exposure to extremes in temperature, chemical, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
• Basic computer skills
• Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
• Must be able to learn quickly and multitask
• Work on a rotating shift which may include weekends and holidays
• Transportation industry and SAP system experience preferred
• Effective listening and communication skills (verbal and written)

Your Education

High School Diploma or GED required
