On behalf of a client in the diversified nuclear and fossil power industry, we are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to oversee all financial aspects of the organization and drive the company's financial strategy and planning.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and serving as a member of the executive management team, this role will require an extensive industry background, exceptional strategic thinking abilities, and a strong background in financial management.

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Baton Rouge, LA. Remote candidates will be considered and encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following : Participate in the development of the organization’s plans and programs as a strategic partner, collaborating with the executive team to formulate and implement strategic goals and objectives Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, the introduction of new programs / strategies, and regulatory actions while ensuring alignment of financial planning with the company’s long-term goals Demonstrate dependability and trustworthiness for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends Assist the Board and senior executives in performing their responsibilities by delivering insightful financial information Enhance and / or develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures to improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation, ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and standards Provide innovative solutions to enhance business performance, financial health, and mitigate business challenges Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline, acting as a financial mentor and guide to the finance team and other departments Continuously improve the budgeting process in collaboration with department managers by financial issues impacting their budgets while ensuring budgets are realistic, achievable, and aligned with corporate objectives Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization, including evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions, mergers, pension funds, and investments Lead financial due diligence and integration processes for mergers and acquisitions Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position Develop and maintain a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism, ensuring minimum cash thresholds to meet operating needs Provide financial advice on any contracts the corporation may enter into and ensure contracts are financially sound and beneficial to the company’s interests Evaluate the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of efficiency and effectiveness, providing individuals with professional and personal growth opportunities and emphasizing development Qualifications Requirements for this position include the following : Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field;

MBA or CPA preferred Extensive experience in financial management, preferably within the clean energy, nuclear and fossil industries Strong strategic planning and financial analysis skills, with the ability to see the big picture and align financial strategies with organization goals Proficiency in financial analysis and interpretation of complex financial data Proven experience in policy development and enforcement Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide the finance team and other departments Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interact with Board members, executives, and stakeholders Deep understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements within the oil and gas sector Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop solutions to financial and operational challenges Emergent Method and associated entities are equal opportunity employers.
