JOB SUMMARY
The Risk Analyst will work within the Risk Department to support the bank’s BSA and Risk Management functions, while providing additional support to the Chief Risk Officer to execute and administer various programs throughout the bank.
This position provides support to the Risk Team by performing daily or time-sensitive functions. It exercises initiative and judgment on how to address and resolve problems on a regular basis.
It maintains strong working relationships with all leaders and teams, and assists in providing assurances that time sensitive risk related matters are adequately addressed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Bank Secrecy Act (50%)
- Assists the BSA Officer with daily management of the automated BSA / AML system including daily processes and administrative matters
- Analyzes sensitive information concerning customer and account activity including transactional and documentation data;
conducts additional research to determine trends and patterns of unusual or suspicious behavior and escalates for further review
Performs Due Diligence reviews on designated accounts such as those opened within 90 days or those which have a Low or Moderate Risk Score
2. Risk Analysis and Mitigation (50%)
- Administration of Vendor Management System
- Assist in Administration of Business Continuity System and Strategies
- Partner with business units and provides operational risk expertise for projects and initiatives with low to moderate inherent risk by begin a resource, attending project meetings, etc.
3. Overall Expectations
- Maintains a working knowledge of regulations and industry best practice in matters related to BSA, and Risk Management
- Builds unity within the Three Lines of Defense by representing the Second Line perspective and consultative approach
- Allocates time efficiently, concentrating efforts on more important priorities, arranging information systematically, planning, coordinating, and managing multiple tasks effectively.
Note : This is a multi-level position. All levels have the same core job responsibilities; however, bring different levels of experience and expertise.
Seniors work on more complex projects and are able to handle a larger number of projects with wider scope while performing duties with minimal oversight.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education-
Required : Bachelor’s Degree (Finance, Accounting, Risk, Legal, or other related field) or Equivalent Experience.
Certifications-
- Required : Current Certification or Ability to Obtain CTMA, CBAP, CAFP, CAMS, CFE, CERP or equivalent designation two years after hire
- Preferred : Current CTMA, CBAP, CAFP, CAMS, CFE, CERP or equivalent designation
Experience-
- Required : 1-3 years of experience in financial services, risk management, or BSA
- Preferred : 3-5 years of experience in financial services, risk management, or BSA
