Job Description
The Patient Care Technician or Certified Nurse Assistant assists the nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients.
Assists patients with personal hygiene, dressing, and walking. Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation to tests and procedures.
May serve and collect food trays and provide patients with between-meal nourishment. May record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse.
PRN Status Clause :
This is a PRN as-needed position, you must be available to work at least 12 hours bi-weekly, as needed according to departmental demands.
You may be required to work additional hours if requested by your supervisor to accomplish work objectives. Work hours may vary (increase or decrease) depending on the needs of the unit.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Training and Education : High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of a CNA program within 6 months is preferred if not already certified.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations : Currently registered as a Certified Nurse Assistant in South Carolina;
must be current in the Nurse Aide Registry. Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
Crisis prevention training may be required based on department requirements.
