JOB SUMMARY :
Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Litigation Paralegal to join their firm. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Florida construction litigation, along with a deep understanding of law firm operations and practice-specific administrative processes.
This role involves effectively managing multiple projects while ensuring clear and professional communication with clients, attorneys, and colleagues.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Collaborate with various departments in a mid to large-sized firm to manage essential functions such as new business intake, conflict checks, and billing.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of court procedures and rules, with hands-on experience filing pleadings in compliance with all requirements.
- Assist in trial preparation by ensuring courtroom readiness and attending trials as needed.
- Conduct thorough investigations and legal research, develop draft pleadings, prepare motions for attorney review, and support discovery processes.
- Serve as a liaison between designated outside counsel and their paralegal teams.
- Advise attorneys on priority needs and status updates for assigned cases.
- Prepare draft affidavits and maintain organized case correspondence and document files.
- Communicate with court administrators and regulatory bodies as required.
- Draft memoranda to summarize research findings effectively.
- Manage complex document productions, overseeing retrieval, review, and database uploads.
- Perform cite-checking and editing of legal documents for accuracy and clarity.
- Maintain comprehensive databases for documents, transcripts, and work products.
- Organize and prepare exhibit lists and privilege logs, with knowledge of Relativity being a plus.
- Coordinate with external document and litigation vendors to streamline processes.
- Exhibit strong oral and written communication skills in drafting and proofreading legal documents.
- Track and bill professional time accurately to client files.
- Manage both electronic and paper case files efficiently.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned, adapting to the needs of the team.
- Note : This position is in-office and not remote or hybrid.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
- A degree in paralegal studies or a related field, or a Paralegal Certificate, is required.
- A minimum of five years of law firm experience is essential.
- Prior experience in Florida construction litigation is required.
- Experience supporting multiple attorneys is a must.
- Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) designation is preferred.

- Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, and external partners.
- In-depth knowledge of Florida court procedures, processes, and filing requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel, as well as experience with law firm case management and billing software.
- Familiarity with FileSite, CMS, SmartTime, and Aderant is advantageous.
