NTN has an immediate opening in our OEM Sales Department for an Automotive Account Manager.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :

This position is responsible for leading NTN global efforts towards securing future business at Ford on platforms that require global coordination.

Person has global scope and works under the authority of NTN Global Automotive HQS in Iwata Japan with direct management located in Farmington Hills Michigan.

The person in this position will visit and interface on a regular basis with key customers and internal contacts around the world.

The primary role is development and sourcing of global business and to provide a required level of global service. This position must take advantage of NTN's collective resources and use creativity and leadership to harness our resources to secure global high volume and profitable business.

  • Pursue and secure new OEM business opportunities for CVJ type driveline products.
  • Responds promptly to inquiries and seeks out and calls upon potential and existing customers to identify needs. Pursue all avenues of technical requirements for new product development.
  • Oversee the management of new program launches. Direct communications between sales and production facilities.
  • Communicate in a timely manner all significant customer issues to appropriate personnel. Maintain timely and accurate records on customer calls and meetings.
  • Provide management with verbal briefs and written reports of customer needs, problems, interests, market situations, competitive activities, new articles and any potential for new business and services.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • 4-year undergraduate engineering or business degree (BSME, IE or Applied Engineering Sciences / multi-discipline degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in automotive sales.
  • Technical skills must include A fundamental understanding of automotive Powertrain or Drivetrain systems and knowledge and application of appropriate industry standards.
  • Leadership capabilities - Ability to function and lead in a team environment.
  • Understands how Development Engineering fits in the manufacturing business (Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Sales, Marketing)
  • Creativity & Independent thinking, Project Management Skills, and Experience
  • Knowledge of basis APQP concepts and QS / TS16949 requirements
