You will be using your skills and expertise to define, design, develop, test, certify and improve cutting-edge software products.
These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems.
You'll perform coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting of systems and software throughout our development process.
Your technical duties involve the design and development of new software products throughout the product lifecycle.
The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command / control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide.
The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains air, land, sea, space and cyber.
Must-haves :
- Bachelor of Science degree in System Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of System Safety engineering principles and practices for military application
- Advanced knowledge Software Safety engineering principles and practices
- Advanced knowledge of safety critical systems
- Advanced knowledge of system and subsystem risk evaluation and analyses
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of MIL-STD-882E
- Advanced knowledge and application of the Joint Software Systems Safety Engineering Handbook (JSSSEH)
- Experience with Functional Hazard Analyses (FHA)
- Experience evaluating software contribution and level of rigor (LOR)
- Experience participating in a highly collaborative multi-disciplinary team
- Experience planning and overseeing execution of system and software safety development efforts
- Strong organization skills and work ethic
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- Thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
Preferred :
- Advanced Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools, such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, MATLAB
- Knowledge of industry standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to requirements management, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
- Experience or certification in INCOSE standards
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
- Experience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measures
- Thorough understanding of establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM)
- Knowledge of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
- Knowledge of Static / Dynamic code analyses and tools
- Knowledge of US Navy / NAVAIR / guidance
- Knowledge of Design Assurance and Agile development Familiarity with bi-directional traceability
- Familiarity with software development processes
- Familiarity with Verification, Validation, and Quality Assurance
- Background in the Aerospace and / or Defense Industry
- Progressive experience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measures
- Ability to establish and track key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM)
Estimated Starting Salary : 109,592.82 USD Annual - 150,690.13 USD Annual
