Summary :
This is a professional accounting management position, which requires thorough knowledge of accounting principles and the ability to apply them in everyday situations.
The purpose of this position is to implement new accounting standards and related systems, assist with the implementation of a new financial ERP system and assist with monthly reporting requirements.
Responsibilities :

- Leads the implementation of new accounting standards including data gathering and analysis.
- Leads or assists with the implementation of new accounting-related systems, including detailed data gathering and data mapping, identifying requirements and designing reports, and validating output.
- Assists with impairment testing and analysis and ongoing impairment accounting.
- Documents policies and procedures.
- Assists with monthly reporting packages for the Board of Directors.
- Reviews certain account reconciliations and analyses.
- Prepares specialized, ad hoc reports as necessary.
- Completes special projects, as assigned.
- Essential Knowledge, Abilities and Skills :
- Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Thorough knowledge of current business management practices and internal control techniques.
- Ability to identify and research complex accounting, statistical, database and procedural problems, and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.
A high degree of logical reasoning ability and consistent exercising of discretion and judgment.
Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.
Education and / or Experience :
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university and a minimum of (10) years of progressive experience, including experience researching and implementing accounting standards.
- CPA preferred.
- Self-directed, highly organized and able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously in order to meet strict deadlines.
- Strong customer service ethic - must understand and agree that our job is to make the other employees' lives easier so that they can do the best job possible serving our customers
- Positive attitude and teamwork mentality are required!
Language Skills :
- Proficient in English - bilingual English / Spanish a plus
- Must have good written and oral communication skills
- Must have good customer service skills
- Must be able to perceive and react to the needs of others
