Position Overview :
As a Veterinary Assistant at West Hills Animal Hospital, you'll play a pivotal role in our mission to provide comprehensive care and support to our patients and their families.
From assisting with medical procedures to offering comfort and companionship to our animal guests, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day.
Department Veterinary Assistants Employment Type Part Time Location Huntington, New York Workplace type Onsite Compensation $17 / two weeks
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include :
- Able to work and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Be comfortable with handling animals of all species' and sizes
- Knowledge of different animal medications
- Build relationships with clients and peers
- Have good computer skills
- Tackling projects as assigned (with a smile, as always!)
If interested and willing to learn, we will train the right candidate
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- High school diploma or GED required
- Preferred have at least 1 year of veterinary medicine experience
- Must be a bright, friendly, and effective communicator in order to communicate with clients, visitors, veterinarians, and other hospital staff.
It’s okay if you talk to animals, too!)
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and move freely for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50 squirming pounds
- Must be able to work in a veterinary environment with exposure to infection or contagious diseases
