Raise Workforce has partnered with a leading single-use food packaging manufacture that does custom orders for businesses that value efficient service, flexibility, and reliability.
They produce hot and cold cups, as well as an extensive lineup of paper and plastic containers.
As a Maintenance Technician , you will play an integral part of keeping the plastic inline extrusion / thermoforming and paper cup production running smoothly.
You will bring your strong mechanical and electrical knowledge to a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You enjoy troubleshooting and working independently and part of a team to achieve results.
Must be willing and able to commute to other facility when needed, approximately 30 miles away.
What you will be doing...
- Troubleshooting, installing, aligning, dismantling, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery, mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, and circuits
- Installing and aligning new equipment
- Performing periodic proactive equipment work, such as maintenance machine analysis, preventative maintenance, and other tasks to improve reliability and up-time
- Installing and repairing mechanical drives, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, belts, and couplings
- Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic systems, control devices, hydraulic equipment, circuits and components
- Performing daily preventative maintenance
- Reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
- Working with the manufacturing and Maintenance Personnel to identify and prioritize maintenance needs
- Helping meet or exceed production and quality goals while optimizing equipment to reduce waste
- Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures and actively participating in the safety program
- Using pipe-fitting skills to weld, cut, fit and install piping throughout the facility
- Fabrication and assembly of simple components
- Applying problem solving methods to identify the root cause and eliminate failures
Why this is the right job for you
- High school diploma or GED
- At least three (3) years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment
- At least two (2) years of experience troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- At least three (3) years of experience with installation, calibration, fabrication, and preventive maintenance in a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment
- Experience troubleshooting issues with motors, bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes and conveyors
- Experience with precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings, and pumps and lubrication
- Experience reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Experience with single and 3-phase electrical repair and troubleshooting up to 480 Volts preferred
- Experience with fabrication and welding considered an asset
- Previous exposure to plastic extrusion and / or thermoforming processing equipment preferred
- Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment; e.
g. safety glasses, hearing protection and other PPE as required by specific job
- Able to perform repetitive hand, wrist, body twist and bend, grasping and pinching, and kneeling, squatting, and climbing tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift heavy objects.
- Ability to work after-hours when required.
