Note : Will train on 1st forseveral weeks and then move to 2nd shift

Summary :

Operates CNC Lathe productionmachine working from blueprints sketches and route sheets.Contributes to lean initiatives to increase productivity and reducecosts.

Works with general guidance in a teamenvironment.

Responsibility :

Sets up and runs production machines. Performs machineoperations (including reworking parts) such as cutting shapingdeburring forming drilling and reaming parts where the materialstooling and sequence of operations have been pre planned andestablished.

Makes necessary machine adjustments and reportsimproper functioning or cutting action for correction.

Performs operations such as tapping spot facing chamferingcountersinking and counterboring to close tolerances.

Aligns and fastens parts using standard fixtures and establishedmethods.

Adjusts feeds speeds and depth of cut tomachine quality parts per documentation.

Removes burrssharp edges tool marks or other irregularities from machined parts.Burring operations involve general production parts ranging fromthe simplest to the more complex.

Inspects parts forconformance to specifications using measuring instruments gages andcomparators. Uses various types of magnification equipment todetect and avoid damage to surfaces and critical areas.

Visuallyinspects parts for burrs and damaged machined surfaces.

Routinely maintains equipment to ensure cleanliness accuracy andreliability specific to division requirements.

Accurately and regularly performs all statistical process control(SPC) specific to division requirements.

Activelyparticipates in lean initiatives by identifying and providingsuggestions on areas for improvement. Applies lean concepts andtools in work area.

Observes all company policies andprocedures including safety rules and maintains a clean and orderlywork area.

Performs other related responsibilities asrequested.

Job Requirements :

Two years related machining experience.

Ableto read and follow blueprints specifications and verbalinstructions.

Has working knowledge of machine shopmathematics may include trigonometry.

Effectivelyapplies lean initiatives.

Demonstrates effective verbalwritten and interpersonal communication skills as well as theability to work in a team environment.

Interpretsreports and uses job specific software applications. Able to useemployee self service systems to access on line information and usespecialized automated systems (i.e. PMR TORS e mail).

Effectively demonstrates team member competencies and participatesin goal setting performance feedback and self developmentactivities.

One year product support or relatedexperience or demonstrated ability to perform described positionresponsibilities.

General knowledge of computer terminaloperations.

May be required to operate moving equipmentand saw equipment and meet OSHA safety qualifications.

May require forklift operator certificate.

Mustdemonstrate manual dexterity.

Ability to perform basicmathematical calculations.

Ability to read andunderstand related forms and specifications.

May berequired to lift up to 35 pounds.

Must demonstrateeffective verbal written and interpersonal communicationskills.

Ability to work effectively with others and be aparticipative team player.
