TomorrowMed Pharma is an innovative closed door and manufacturing pharmacy! We are seeking an experienced and efficient Regional operations manager to join our growing team.
This role will report to the Director of Pharmacy and is based at our corporate headquarters in Houston, TX (remote candidates are not being considered) and will include travel to the DFW area, Tennessee, and North Carolina as needed.
The Regional Operations Manager-Pharmacy is responsible for overseeing and managing the pharmacy operations across multiple locations within a designated region.
This role involves ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical services, optimizing operational efficiency, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.
The Regional Operations Manager-Pharmacy will lead and support pharmacy teams across the region, drive process improvements, and collaborate with other departments to enhance patient care and operational outcomes
Operational Oversight :
- Manage the daily operations of multiple pharmacy locations within the assigned region, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and goals.
- Monitor and evaluate pharmacy performance metrics across the region, identifying trends and implementing strategies for improvement.
Standardize processes and procedures across locations to ensure consistency and efficiency in pharmacy operations.
Ensure that all pharmacy locations within the region maintain appropriate inventory levels, manage costs effectively, and adhere to procurement guidelines.
Leadership and Team Development :
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to pharmacy managers and teams within the region. Conduct regular site visits to monitor operations, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, professional development, and continuous improvement among pharmacy staff.
- Identify training and development needs within the region and coordinate the delivery of relevant programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
Regulatory Compliance :
- Ensure that all pharmacy operations within the region comply with state and federal regulations, including those set forth by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other governing bodies.
- Oversee the preparation and management of audits and inspections, ensuring all documentation and processes meet regulatory standards.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations affecting pharmacy operations and implement necessary adjustments across the region.
Quality and Process Improvement :
- Lead quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety, service quality, and operational efficiency across the region.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to support medication management, optimize therapeutic outcomes, and promote best practices in pharmaceutical care.
- Drive the implementation of new technologies, systems, and processes that enhance pharmacy operations and patient care within the region.
Financial Management :
- Assist in the development and management of the pharmacy budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Monitor performance of pharmacy locations within the region, identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
Customer Service and Relationship Management :
- Ensure a high level of customer service is provided across all pharmacy locations.
- Address and resolve any escalated issues or complaints related to pharmacy services in a timely and professional manner.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with healthcare providers, patients, and other stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelors degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Management at minimum.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a pharmacy operations or quality assurance role, with at least 5 years in a regional or multi-site management capacity.
Proven experience in managing pharmacy operations, including inventory management, staff supervision, and regulatory compliance across multiple locations.
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to lead and inspire teams across multiple locations.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
In-depth knowledge of pharmacy operations, including regulations, best practices, and industry trends.
Proficiency in pharmacy management software and other relevant technology.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and regions.
DEMANDS OF POSITION AND TRAVEL :
This position involves travel within the designated region to manage multiple pharmacy locations. The frequency and destinations of travel will vary based on operational needs and requirements.
The role involves working in a healthcare environment, which may include exposure to hazardous substances.
