Job Overview

As an Assistant Brand Licensing Manager, you will report to the Director of Brand Licensing. You will use your licensing and brand management experience to lead the product development and licensing process for your respective brands.

You will also get the opportunity to work across teams and communicate directly with licensors to manage commercializing multiple products and project timelines.

Job Responsibilities

  • Product Development
  • Assist the brand manager in creating line plans for each license.
  • Create design briefs for new items (pulling assets, aligning on components, entering information into PLM).
  • Track development progress for new items in PLM.
  • Schedule photo shoots, participate in shoots, ensure selects are made.
  • Requesting and managing duplicates once items are licensor approved.
  • Turning items over to Sourcing, putting RFQ's into PLM.
  • Photographing and submitting contractual samples to get approved prior to production.
  • Own process from concept development to launch including prioritization of projects.
  • Licensing
  • Act as face of the brand for all product development related tasks including email licensors about assets, submissions and the like.
  • Manage the Licensor portal submissions including Mattel, Viacom, Sega, SpinMaster, MGM and others. Upload product photos, track feedback, and coordinate with designers to make revisions / executing feedback using PLM for project management.
  • Ensure items are licensor approved before we proceed to production.
  • Stay up to date on licensor priorities, marketing activations, and news.
  • General Department Tasks
  • Update PPT presentations including selling stories and licensing decks.
  • Partner with Marketing on activities ensuring all consumer-facing collateral uses official assets and is licensor approved.
  • Participate in planning for meetings, trade shows, and events including organizing items digitally (in Excel) and physically (racks, tagging costumes).
  • Keep costume racks clean and organized by license.

Job Competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or Marketing preferred.
  • 4-7 years Licensing or Brand Management experience.
  • Experience with licensor submission portals, approvals process, and general licensed product development process.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to be adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to develop products.
  • Excellent communication skills including being comfortable on calls and in meetings with external stakeholders including licensors and customers.
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
