Role : Utility Billing Specialist
Duration : 3 Months (Contract) W2 (extension likely)
Location : Tualatin, OR (Hybrid - Wed and Thursdays)
Hours : 7am - 4pm (1-hour unpaid lunch)

Job Summary
The Utility Billing Specialist will handle billing issues, support meter exchange projects, and ensure accurate billing.
This role involves tracking tasks with spreadsheets and resolving billing system issues :
Investigates, analyzes, negotiates, resolves and documents billing issues.

- Learn billing processes and ensure accurate task completion.
- Track and document work progress effectively.
Billing Management : Investigate, analyze, and resolve billing issues; process adjustments and corrections.
Customer Support : Respond to billing-related inquiries and explain PGE policies and procedures.
Work Management : Maintain billing system accounts, process discounts and reimbursements, and document work processes.
Communication : Send customer communications using templates; collaborate with team members and other departments.

Day-to-Day :
Complete assigned meter exchange tasks and track progress with spreadsheets.
Use the billing system to fix issues and ensure accurate customer billing.
Interaction :
Team : Training and support from team members via Teams or in person.
Hiring Manager : Updates on work tasks and support needs via Teams or in person.
Qualification :
Education : High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience : 2+ years in customer service or billing
Must-Haves : Intermediate Excel skills, attention to detail, basic math skills
Nice-to-Haves : Previous billing experience, analytical skills, communication skills
Physical and Cognitive Demands :
Cognitive : Ability to meet deadlines, adapt to changes, and collaborate effectively.
Schedule / Attendance : Adhere to schedule and handle variable hours or severe weather conditions.
