Building Maintenance Technician

Lexus Escondido, the most cutting-edge Lexus dealer in the San Diego area, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Building Maintenance Technician with exceptional customer service skills and a passion for excellence.

Position Summary

The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the facility's optimal condition by performing preventive maintenance, routine servicing, seasonal repairs, and equipment / system repairs.

Working under the direction of a Supervisor, the Technician maintains the interior and exterior of the facility, including all common areas.

Key Responsibilities

• General Maintenance : Perform general, preventive, and emergency maintenance to maintain the cleanliness, functionality, appearance, and sanitation of the facility.
• Repairs : Conduct repairs on wall coverings, floor coverings, furniture, fixtures, plumbing, minor electrical systems, lighting, HVAC systems, and appliances.
• Property Maintenance : Quickly and effectively repair damaged property, machines, or equipment, with major repairs supervised by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Attitude and Communication : Exhibit a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, proactive approach, ownership, care, enthusiasm, organization, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
• Inspections : Complete daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of the facility's appearance and functionality.

Record and prioritize items needing attention in the Track-It system.

Emergency Response : Respond to emergency maintenance issues, including phone calls, Track-It tickets, and Supervisor requests.

Participate in a weekend rotation for emergencies as needed.

• Custodial Duties : Perform miscellaneous custodial tasks to maintain the building’s interior and exterior appearance.
• Transport and Delivery : Occasionally transport, pick up, and deliver supplies and other items.
• Customer Service : Provide excellent customer service at all times.
• Organization : Keep office, storage, and shop areas clean and organized.
• Safety : Handle hazardous materials safely and ensure adherence to company safety standards, policies, procedures, and all relevant federal, state, and local safety regulations (including OSHA, EPA, Workers’ Compensation, and Hazard Communications).

Report safety issues immediately and attend scheduled safety training.

Other Duties : Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education and Training : Technical schooling and / or training preferred.
• Experience : Minimum of three years of previous work experience with electrical, plumbing, and painting in a complex commercial or industrial setting.
• Skills : Detail-oriented, well-organized, and experienced in logical troubleshooting.
• Customer Service : Strong passion for customer service.
• Communication : Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions and communicate effectively with diverse personnel.
• Math Skills : Basic ability to perform simple math.
• Adaptability : Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, handle multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
• Driving Requirements : Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
