The ChemicalOperator reports to the Plant Manager or Production Supervisordepending on shift allocation. The position requires adetailoriented selfstarter who : incorporates safety and qualityinto every decision while performing daytoday tasks can efficientlyoperate and maintain chemical processes and equipment to meetmanufacturing specifications and achieve maximum productivitywithout compromising safety or quality will actively seek outopportunities for process improvement and take full responsibilityfor collaborating with management and peers to implement approvedchanges in a timely manner.
The holder of this plant position mustbe a positivenatured taskoriented individual with chemicalmanufacturing experience significant mechanical aptitude and a highlevel of computer literacy.
This person must be personally andprofessionally motivated to work constructively with team membersat all levels within the company to execute job responsibilitieswith a sense of urgency and to support plant and businessinitiatives as well as consistently strive to increase the safetythe quality and the productivity of the site.
The Chemical Operatorwill be assigned responsibilities in all areas of plant operationsincluding product manufacturing equipment maintenance analyticaltesting bulk loading and unloading and utilization of the companycomputer systems.
EssentialFunctions :
- Operatingchemical processes and equipment to safely manufacture qualityproducts.
- Apply all plant safety rules workguidelines / practices andprocedures.
- Recommending and being activelyinvolved in implementing improvements and adjustments to processesequipment and procedures.
- Updating andmaintaining daily QC data and processsamples.
- Utilizing computers for qualitycontrol inventory control transportation documents and otherprocessing purposes.
- Providing physical laborwhere needed.
- Working changing shifts asneeded.
OtherResponsibilities :
- Keeping all process areas the laboratory andequipment clean and operational.
- Loading tankertrucks and preparing them forshipment.
- Operating mobileequipment
- Maintaining laboratory equipmentaccording to procedure and inventory asrequired.
- Providing production support to alldepartments as needed.
- Developing and applyingimprovements in processes equipment andprocedures.
- Performing additionalresponsibilities and tasks as directed bymanagement.
Requirements :
- A High School Diploma.
- Significant mechanical and experience andaptitude.
- Preferred 35years Chemical manufacturing experience.
- Basic college coursework in subjects such asmath chemistry and statistics.
- The right individual has a cando attitude theability to be part of a team while operating independently andconsistently performs to very high standards.
