Our client seeks a skilled and experienced Development Director to oversee the organization's fund-raising. This new position is ideally suited for an individual with a proven track record of raising funds in the economic development sector across government, private and public foundations, corporations, and individuals.

This position will be part of the organization’s leadership team and will report directly to the CEO. This role will require both strategic-level thinking and perspective and the ability to drill down into the details of grant research and writing, analysis and reporting, grant tracking and administration, and maintaining relationships over time.

This full-time position is virtual. Occasional travel to Pittsburgh headquarters and other sites will be required.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Work with the CEO to develop, plan, and implement a comprehensive annual fundraising, revenue generation, and partner engagement strategy in accordance with the operational, strategic, and revenue goals in the strategic plan and annual budget.
  • Research and write or supervise all grant applications and manage all funder identification, cultivation, solicitation, acquisition, renewal, and stewardship.
  • Develop a lead generation system, a prospect engagement plan, and manage the funder database.
  • Perform or supervise all donor administrative functions. Generate detailed reports to help further define donor solicitation and management strategies.
  • Work with the organization’s leadership team to ensure seamless communications and the creation of all fundraising-related materials.

Requirements

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree minimum, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of non-profit development experience, preferably in the economic development sector.
  • Demonstrated fundraising and relationship management experience and success in setting and attaining significant revenue targets.
  • Fluency with industry-standard philanthropy and grant research tools and best practices.
  • Self-motivated, confident, and experienced fundraiser and manager with exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly developed ability to multitask, work independently, prioritize, meet deadlines, and achieve results in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Well-connected in the world of fundraising and advocacy.
  • Strong technology skills Google Suite, HubSpot, and the willingness and ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Ability to analyze and leverage data and metrics to measure success and guide development strategies and tactics.
