Assistant Professor to Associate Professor, Social Work
Job Description
The Department of Social Work seeks to broaden the diversity of our full-time faculty with an opening for a full-time tenure track faculty position beginning July 1, 2022.
The primary responsibility will be teaching undergraduate Social Work courses including practice, policy, and cultural humility.
Social work classes are taught in the evening, Monday through Thursday. A secondary responsibility may be teaching Social Science Theme courses in the University Studies program of the General Education Division.
Candidates should have university teaching experience and be committed to high quality undergraduate teaching. In addition to teaching courses, all faculty members are expected to provide service to the department through student mentoring, recruitment, curriculum development and assessment, adherence to social work accreditation standards, and participation in program admission and honor society ceremonies and the senior comprehensive exams.
Service on university committees and pursuing scholarship / research is also expected.
About the Department
The Department of Social Work has two full-time faculty members, several adjuncts, and approximately 45 majors. It offers a Bachelors of Social Work accredited by the Council of Social Work Education.
Applicants should have a minimum of a Masters in Social Work from a CSWE accredited school, at least two years of post-MSW work experience in the field, and successful teaching experience.
A clinical license and / or doctorate is preferred. Candidates must be members of the Seventh-day Adventist church.
Salary and rank is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
