Job Description
Primary Function :
Conduct initial and final inspections of machined parts to meet quality standards cost-effectively.
Tools and Equipment :
Hand tools, pneumatic tools, hoists, overhead cranes, measuring instruments, computers, gear testing equipment, coordinate measuring machines.
Supervision :
- Reports to the Department Supervisor.
- No direct supervision responsibilities.
Work Procedure :
- Perform first-piece inspections for manufacturing departments.
- Inspect final dimensional characteristics before shipment.
- Initiate reject reports and tags for discrepant material.
- Set up and operate gear testing and coordinate measuring machines.
- Repair and calibrate gauges and testing equipment; identify and tag equipment.
- Inspect broaches as needed.
- Use overhead cranes and hoists to move and position parts.
- Follow all safety rules, wear proper PPE, and adhere to 6S standards.
- Assist engineers and supervisors in improving parts, methods, fixtures, and workplace organization for continuous improvement.
