Job Title : Surgical Technician
Job Description
Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning patients on the operating table and covering them with sterile surgical drapes to prevent exposure.
Help prepare the operating room prior to an operation by setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions.
Work with Sterile Processing as needed to arrange sterile setup for surgical procedures. Ensure proper instrumentation for each procedure, including assembling both sterile and non-sterile equipment.
Participate in all counts (instruments, sponges, sharps, as needed. Assist with maintenance of supplies and equipment. Regular, physical attendance on a predictable basis, including on call duties, is essential to the performance of this job.
Ensure all medications are labeled and handed to the surgeon according to established policies and procedures. Prepare dressings or bandages and apply or assist with their application following surgery.
