DISTRIBUTION SUPERVISOR

This position is responsible for establishing and maintainingsuccessful operations of an assigned area, department, or shift ofthe warehouse / distribution center.

It ensures that the departmenthas adequate staffing, proper training, the needed tools andresources, standards of productivity, safety and sanitation, andproper procedures of stocking, selection, and quality that willmeet customer demands for accurate, quality, on-timedeliveries.

ESSENTIAL JOBFUNCTIONS / PRINCIPALACCOUNTABILITIES :

• Direct and motivateteammates.

• Listen, address andfollow-up to teammate concerns, questions andproblems.
• Facilitate communication within thewarehouse leadership team and between division / warehouse leadershipand teammates.
• Understand DC goals andstandards, implement department procedures to meet those standards,and promote them to and gain buy-in and positive results fromteammates;

standards may include but will not be limited to : productivity, order quality, damages, shrinkage, safety,sanitation, turnover and overtime.

• Ensuredepartment and warehouse procedures will cut unnecessary costs, addvalue for customers, and improve morale and the work environmentfor teammates.
• Ensure the work environment ismaintained in a clean and safe manner following government, companyand Silliker standards.
• Supervise and managedaily work of department teammates.
• Create andmaintain schedules and job assignments of departmentteammates.
• Maintain all departmentalpaperwork.
• Provide training as needed tomaintain an efficient and knowledgeableworkforce.
• Provide coaching / corrective action,training and development for teammates.
• Enforceall Distribution Center policies and issue coaching / correctiveaction as needed.
• Ensure adherence to properoperational and safety procedures.
• Be a visibleand a vocal advocate for safety.
• Relieve othersupervisor(s) during their vacations.
• Complywith company work and safety rules.
• Followdirections.
• Work independently and in a teamenvironment.
• Be trained and certified tooperate any required equipment within 30 days afterhire.
• Maintain a flexible work schedule to meetthe changing needs of the Distribution Center; work schedules mayrequire working an early shift, staying long for a late shift, andweekend work depending on the customer and operational requirementsof the division.
• Work in warm and coldtemperature conditions that may range from 38 F to 110 F; asupervisor assigned to the freezer must be able to periodicallywork in temperatures as cold as-10 F.
• Periodically stand, walk, bend, stoop,push, pull, grasp and reach above the head asneeded.

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS :

A teammatein this position must :

• High SchoolDiploma or GED equivalent required.
• Abachelor's degree is preferred.
• Have 2 yearsdistribution warehouse experience, preferably in the groceryindustry.
• Have experience leading large numbersof warehouse staff with experience in hiring, training, motivatingand resolving employee relation's issues.
• Havecomputer knowledge to include experience using Microsoft Word andExcel.
• Demonstrate the ability to lead byexample.
• Possess good written and verbalcommunication skills.
• Be willing to listen andrespond to teammates.
• Have the ability toeffectively present information and respond to questions fromgroups of managers and teammates.
• Have theability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and drawvalid conclusions.
• Be able to successfully passeducation / experienceverification.

WORKINGCONDITIONS :

• Theenvironment encompasses all areas of a Distribution Center;material movement takes place throughout thefacility.
• This position requires the teammateto work inside majority of the time.
• Thisposition may require work in hot and cold temperature extremes andexposure to dust, dirt, fumes, noise, potentially harmfulchemicals, solvents and components, and working in close toproximity to other teammates.
• Closed-toe shoesmust be worn at all times.
• This position hasofficial supervisoryresponsibilities.
