Sourcing Specialist

The Resource is hiring a Sourcing Specialist for our client, a high-quality furniture manufacture, located in High Point, NC! This is permanent, Direct-Hire opportunity that offers a salary range of $50,000- $65,000 per year, and offers a benefits package that includes Healthcare, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Long-term Disability, 401K, and more! The position has a 1st shift schedule (7 : 30am-5 : 30pm, Monday - Thursday;

8 : 00am- 12 : 00pm, Friday). The Sourcing Specialist would be responsible for finding new vendors, equipment, services, materials, and check availability for existing components.

Responsibilities :

• Identifies and recommends suppliers by investigating potential suppliers, researching parts, equipment, machinery, services, and materials availability for existing components
• Provide support to Marketing / R&D / Finance / Service / Quality in all stages of new product development by researching materials identified by Product Development / Engineering and suggest new materials as located through sourcing processes
• Coordinate with Engineering to research new materials and vendors for cost effectiveness or to achieve a new product design.

Coordinate and participate in supplier meetings

• Assist with bid evaluations, cost analyses, price justification, and risk assessment of suppliers
• Identify historic part disruption issues including lead time, business health, quality and continuing rising costs
• Work to find additional suppliers for these parts starting with the biggest concern areas first that can be used as alternate or backup suppliers
• Identify parts, assist with bid evaluations, cost analysis, and sampling to confirm viability of alternate supplier
• While working on new products, ensure multiple vendors are identified as possible suppliers and included on items cards to ensure backups are identified in the beginning
• Monitor Incoming freight costs especially with container / overseas shipments
• Evaluate processes associated with Inventory including PRO Parts and Parts changes to ensure processes are followed and inventory is correctly moved
• Work on slow moving inventory teams to evaluate purchased parts that aren’t moving and products that should be discontinued or redesigned to include more common parts
• Review reorder points and order qty’s in the system to ensure these are modified based on recent order trends and vendor lead times
• Spearhead the effort to correct vendor lead times in the systems to ensure information accuracy. Additional projects as needed to assist Purchasing and Operations.

Qualifications :

• Purchasing or Sourcing experience required (3+ years)
• MRP software experience
• BOM structure knowledge
• Microsoft Program Level – expert
• Ability to Negotiate pricing
