POSITION SUMMARY :

The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Inventory tracking logs to track equipment within the facility, i.e., pumps, poles, concentrators, nebulizers, mattress, etc.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance and repair logs for each piece of equipment.
  • Fill requisitions from departments for routine supplies and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that supplies and equipment are properly maintained.
  • Maintain par levels of supplies and equipment required.
  • Organize storage, issue and delivery of supplies and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure inventory is updated as required, when receiving / issuing supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure that vendors provide appropriate material safety data sheets (MSDSs) in accordance with current OSHA regulations and the facility’s policies and procedures.

Report problem areas to the Director of Nurses.

  • Maintain knowledge of CMS Supplier Standards
  • Maintain infection control procedures for both clean and dirty equipment and monitor clean and dirty equipment areas for cross contamination.
  • Others duties as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed by the Director of Nursing and / or Administrator.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS & ABILITIES :

  • Must be familiar with medical terminology.
  • Must be knowledgeable of supply practices, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Must meet health assessment requirements, including two-stage Mantoux skin test
  • Communicates effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and possesses sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma.
  • Must have as a minimum, two (2) years’ experience in LTC setting.
