  • Vocational education, apprenticeship, or on the job training preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Minimum 5 years' experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Knowledge of Hydraulics
  • Welding / Fabrication 3G 4G certified.
  • Experience with power and hand tools.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with a variety of individuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities : No

Work Environment :

  • Not Afraid of working at heights.
  • Must be able to work in rotating shifts, days, evenings, and nights.
  • Must be able to work in extreme outdoor temperatures of hot and cold, extremely dusty conditions and occasionally, conditions of high levels of noise.
  • The ability to work in an environment that may be hazardous to persons unable to see and hear fast moving equipment.
  • Will be required to join the Union

This is a union position and all wages are determined per Collective Bargaining Agreement

The Journeyman Crane Mechanic is responsible for the daily inspection, maintenance, repairs and rebuilds of lift equipment and cranes.

Essentia l Responsibilities :

  • AC / DC Converters
  • VFD's (Variable Frequency Drives) Multiple Manufactures on Various Equipment
  • Programmable logic controllers
  • Industrial Control Maintenance and Troubleshooting (low and high voltage)
  • Maintains, tests, and repairs low to high voltage electrical equipment, including circuits, transformers, high voltage switches, motor control centers.
  • Maintenance of motor repair, to include diesel engines (Cummins Hybrid) maintenance, trouble shooting, repair, CAN bus systems.
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Reads, interprets, and assists in the design of electrical and electronic schematics, mechanical and instrumentation drawings, wiring diagrams, and construction drawings necessary to install, service, and repair equipment in accordance with related regulations and vendor specifications.
  • Conduct on-site electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic troubleshooting to determine cause for equipment malfunction and establish the necessary repairs utilizing visual inspection, test procedures and appropriate test equipment.
  • May perform Welding / Fabrication 3G and 4G
  • Ensures the operational condition of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and repairs per manufacturer's recommendations on equipment to ensure that it is safe and in compliance with all federal and state regulations.
  • Analyze and diagnose any potential malfunctions, defects, damage, or excessive wear.
  • Repair or replace any malfunctioning components, parts and other mechanical equipment and subassemblies.
  • Regularly test overhauled equipment to ensure that it is operating efficiently.
  • Ensures accuracy while maintaining all equipment maintenance files.
  • Ensures that services provided follow all safety procedures. This will include the requirement to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), such as safety toe boots, protective hard hat, ear protection and safety glasses, when applicable.
  • Maintain company values, rules, policies, and procedures are met to fulfill the company mission, as well as productive relationships with customers and vendors.
  • All other duties as assigned by management and / or supervisor.
