Description of Work

The Assistant Director will mentor and develop CAST success coaches (hiring, training, on / off-boarding, etc.) aligning these processes with unit-level goals and mission.

This includes working closely with the existing coaching materials and training, and monitoring coaching caseloads and documentation in the Student Success Hub while regularly assessing the impact of coaching services.

The Assistant Director will work with the Director to develop strategies for continuously improving processes to support current retention practices particularly via individualized coaching and peer mentoring while assisting in the development of new and innovative approaches to student engagement.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in education, counseling, psychology, or related field and at least three years of experience working with students at secondary or post-secondary level in an advising, counseling, transitions or retention-related role.

  • Experience effectively working with underserved, first-generation and / or racial / ethnic minoritized students within a college setting.
  • Experience supervising staff or graduate students.
  • Experience creating and implementing retention or academic success programs for students within a college setting.
  • Experience with assessment and evaluation of programs.
  • Ability to effectively problem solve, think critically, and communicate effectively with college students and staff in situations of shared responsibility and confidentiality.

Must be able to work independently and within a team environment.

Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.

Posted Salary : $60,000 / yr. minimum
