POSITION OVERVIEW
Job Title : Facilities Ground Keeper
Classification : Part-Time Flex / Hourly / Non-Exempt
Pay Range : $19.23 / hour
Work Schedule : As needed flexible scheduling
Work Location : On-site- Bainbridge Island Campus
Benefit Package This position is eligible to receive Sick & Safe leave with a maximum annual accrual of 40 hours.
Remote Work : No remote work for this position
PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Remove falling trees with chainsaws, winches, and other arborist equipment
- Responds to grounds, forest, drainage, septic, and plumbing related work orders
- Rebuilding Trail system with gravel, berms, and edging
- Utilize earthmoving equipment as needed (excavator, loader, dump gator)
- Dig Trenches and holes, creating concrete beams and footings
- Clearing debris, creating drainage, and landscaping
- Topping Trees and removing dead or invasive vegetation
- Maintenance of Vehicles and equipment
- Maintenance of all small engine equipment and tools
- Assisting with small construction projects
- Rebuilding culverts, field structures, and furniture
- Weed removal, leaf blowing, pruning.
- Mopping, sweeping and other general custodial duties
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Minimum of 1 year experience with tree service company, or landscaping company
- Must be physically able to bend, twist, turn, kneel, climb and work in awkward positions
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
- Must be able to handle and use construction, arborists, heavy equipment, and tools
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 pounds
- Must be able to work outdoors in extreme temperature and weather conditions
- Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks, and work independently
- Good computer skills; Outlook E-mail, MS Office, and online event scheduling database,
- Good work ethic and dependable scheduling
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to communicate effectively with Amiable personality and professional demeanor
- Familiar with Radio communication and mobile phone apps for reporting and tracking
- General knowledge of landscaping, construction, and tree care
Washington State driver’s license and ability to obtain any licenses required for system or vehicle operation
Experience in engaging with diverse communities
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Experience with tree care and removal procedures, chainsaws, heavy equipment, and construction tools
OSHA 10 hour card
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS :
